***Saw an advanced screening***
Just My Luck starring Lindsey Lohan brings you back to the good ole girl before we knew her as the papparazzi princess. The story is about this young girl, Ashley who is beginning her career and stepping into adulthood. She has all the luck in the world on her side. She is an assistant for a marketing firm and when her boss can't make the meeting she pitches the deal and the big music mogul loves it and goes with this great plan. Ashley is then promoted and begins to work on this deal. She is planning a masquarade party for Masquared Records and she does an awesome job. But she soon meets the most unlucky guy in the world, Jake (Chris Pine) who is trying to get some demo's to the music mogul to promote this band who plays at the bowling alley where he works. Ashley feels the connection and they kiss which passes all the luck to him. From there, you can just imagine when ensues. Her life becomes a wreck...but she is falling for the guy whom has taken her luck, but her life is such a mess, should she steal the luck back with a kiss?
The movie has a lot of laughs, but the middle gets kinda dull and you've had enough with all the antics of having bad luck. Lindsey's role is much like that in Freaky Friday, so she is enjoyable to watch. The story gets a little far fetched, but will be fun for its target audience. B- |
