I don't write many reviews of movies but this one has been getting a ton of flames from religious right activists and other people who went to see a movie they had no business seeing. I go to the movies on a weekly basis and have seen great and not so great movies lately. I saw this movie tonite and was actually a little scared. I have been waiting for a movie like this forever, the rape scene was intense but it added so much to the movie. It clearly shows the cruel nature of the mutants. The costume design was great and visual effects made it seem like everything was real, unlike other movies (UltraViolet). This movie actually made you root for the good guys as they slowly took down the bad. It made the whole theater scream and cheer at specific parts in the movie. The music was different but I think it workd extreemly well in the movie. After a good guy victory the music would change from that suspensful scary music to the triumphiant 'I am king of the world!' sound. This movie shows the pure untapped part of the human being that is survival. Others say, 'People should have died but somehow kept living' the only time that may have been strecthed was the ending when a mutant was shot with a shotgun point blank in the chest. But haven't you seen A New Nightmare? Friday the 13th? How many times does Jason or Freddy die per movie? In my oppinion you shouldn't listen to anything that someone says who left at the begining of the climax of the movie, you know nothing and you left in 'fear and disgust' the point of the movie. So congatulations people who rate this less then an A-, you left a movie that is supposed to be terrifing and disturbing because you were... Terrified and disturbed. Your reviews are bias and a waste of everyones time. In conclusion if you want to see a good old style hack and slash immagination flick this isn't it... But if you want the future of horror flicks that push the envelope just that much further, want to be scared, or just see a good horror flim, then this is the movie for you. |
