This movie has it all. I've been dissapointed in almost every hollywood horror flick since The Ring. They have been so weak in plot, visuals, and especially endings.
The Descent is really only a B movie but it's one of the best B movies ever. For a movie that had to have a tiny buget this one was a real shocker.
It starts out with a bang, slows down a bit and then we get into the cave. 6 women climbing down into what they think is a tourist type cave with many entrances and exits soon find out they have been deceived by their own friend who seems to want to prove something.
Well being trapped underground with no idea of how to get out is bad enough but the plot thickens when they find out they are not alone. This movie has some really shocking scenes ever put on film. The acting is great for a bunch of unknowns. You really feel their fear as they perish one by one. Complete with the not so hollywood ending this film goes down as one of the best horrors of all time.
Get this movie any way you can and watch it in the dark alone if you dare... |
