I took my kids and their friends (ages 8-14) to see this movie. The movie is funny and sad, BUT overall a well woven story with a great lesson we all can benefit from. We ALL enjoyed it. The sad side of the movie is not simply some aimless and dreary downer. In fact, it is (in my opinion) a necessary part of the story (i don't want to give away anything) In fact, as the movie turned sad, i glanced over at the kids to see their expressions and they all remained very much absorbed into the story. Importantly, they all got it. This is more of a comedic story with a point, rather than a "non-stop antics" type movie. We had all seen Cars (good movie) and Nacho Libre -- this "story" is just as entertaining for the kids and adults. Finally, if you are a working Dad with kids, you need to see this movie. I am glad that I didnt allow the Critic Reviews to stop us from going to see this movie. I have never been an Adam Sadler fan, but this movie really reveals his talent. |
