This is the most gritty, hellish, yet epic, sophisticated, and suspenseful science fiction movie in years!
As you may have read elsewhere, the film takes place in Britain, year 2027, over a decade since women have lost the ability to become pregnant. The world is in chaos but through fascist measures the British government has maintained order within its borders. Refugees from other war-torn European nations are being rounded up tortured Guantanamo-style or shipped to concentration camps. Somewhat like a futuristic version of Schindler's List.
The visuals, cinematography, choreography, and nuances are absolutely amazing. You have to see it to believe it, the kind of stuff that makes you sit at the edge of your seat totally immersed in the action. It reminds me of those unforgettably vivid and involving adventure dreams with nightmare elements that leave your heart pounding.
I heartily recommend this movie to anyone looking for an impressive and imaginative thriller. But watch out, it'll stick in your mind for a while afterwards. |
