This was a film with the potential to be this generation's Soylent Green. Instead, the filmaker obviously decided to grind his political axes at the expense of the story.
Though set in the future, signs reading "Bush lied, people died" can still be seen on walls in the background. Though trying its best to support a deteriorating society, the British government is still somehow pegged as the "bad guy". Muslims and immigrants are the victims of Western oppression.
In short, this is leftist political clap-trap disguised as Sci-Fi.
Don't go see this unless you found Farenheit 9/11 was somehow a compelling piece of filmaking. If you are of that ilk, than you might enjoy this. Otherwise, go rent Soylent Green. Its at least a pure fantasy undisguised as anything else.... |
