A Movie That Actually Draws You In!

There are a lot of movies these days that lack serious originality and bore you half way through. Either you figure out the plot or you just can't relate to the characters. When you first see the previews, you think, "Ok, this movie is just about another affair," but the first part of the movie has nothing to do with the affair. Clive Owen's character, a husband who loves his family but like any family, is having a few problems, and the beginning gets you into the life of this family. Jennifer Aniston finally shows off her skills as a sexy top exec that has a few family problems of her own. Her character, Lucinda, is confident and self-assured, which is a real draw as she and Charles (Clive) get to know eachother. Movies leave it until the last 5, maybe 10, minutes to explain everything and give the audience a couple shockers. "Derailed" told a great story the first 2/3 of the way through, building up to the last third of it in which there are so many great surprises that I can't even count them. Throughout the story, you find yourself in Lucinda and Charles' shoes as you ponder what you would do, as they get deeper and deeper into a hole that you're sure they can't get out of. You leave the movie thinking, "Wow, THAT was a good movie."
