I liked it BUT!!....

I don't think that people should fall in love with this movie so quickly untill they have read the book. Sure a love story is good and yes, Janie's condescending lifestyle makes you sick at some points but this book was back in the day. I don't think that Oprah realizes how much she has brought down the real purpose of the book which by the way is for Janie to find herself as a woman. This is her journey through all the bad things so that she can open her eyes and mentally set herself free in all areas of a real womans life. This movie doesn't portray the book as a whole and that is ashame because the book is beautiful. The movie was also great but it just didn't highlight the book at all. |
