So I loved the book , it was pretty much an exagerated version of my childhood except I was the crazy one and not everyone else around me.
Ryan Murphy did a great artistic interpretation of the book without being too literal and bio pic esque. I hate bio pics, they belong on lifetime.
Annette Benning, need I say more, had so many layers of crazy, it was brilliant to watch her close ups as each peeled layer broke your heart. Joseph Cross was adorably pathetic and sweet.
Evan Rachel Wood was spirited but forced. Jill Claybourgh should get a Supporting Actress nomination for her portayl of the most bizarre normal person ever written. Overall I was more moved during the movie than I was in the book. I liked that I can have two solid versions of the same story to inspire me. |
