Every so often, a movie comes along whose story and actors make it resonate so closely to real life, you truly forget you are sitting in a theater watching rather than experiencing the story. Second best is one of those movies.
Most movies require some amount of suspension of disblief either because of time constraints, character constraints, etc in order to enjoy the story, and the production. This movie is so "True-to-life", its scary. And all done with no special effects, no fancy sets or locations, and a collection of actors either who have never made it or never will make it.
Of course if you are a fan of big-budget, studio driven movies, this isnt for you. However, if you have often felt a bit like life is passing you by while you struggle to make it in nowhereville USA, this movie will certainly help you hold a mirror up and exeperience some of the pain through someone elses perspective. |
