This movie touches me on many levels. It is about good guys winning. ... and about loyalty and about just desserts and things turning out the way they ought to. But it is also a reminder of how simple (minimal) life can be yet still be satisfying and complete. This is not a great movie but it is clearly a memorable movie and, if you are a guy who yearns for simplicity of results (let's get a job done and avoid bureaucracies) this movie will touch you too. It is filled with real characters and enjoyable, complete-within-themselves, mini stories. Lastly, for the rest of the T. L. Jones fans out there, this script could very well have been written precisely for Mr. Jones. If you liked him in Lonesome Dove (..."can't abide rudeness in a man") you gotta see this movie. |
