So I knew this would be a liberal take on illegals in the US and it was... but it was well made enough that even if you are conservative it is quite touching. When they are chasing down the home of a murdered illegal into Mexico, the Mexicans are real people and quite sympathetic. They are also generous, though very poor. I think I felt like I may have forgotten how really hospitable and open Mexicans are since we are always seeing the downside of illegal crossings. I am still against illegal immigration and believe it to be unfair to the people who work hard to get to the US legally but this film was just a story about one murder, one violent miscreant and doing whats right, when you have the opportunity. |
