Wrong movie?

Did I watch the wrong movie? All things I've read about this resembles nothing that I saw. The violence was comical and the gore was something I'd expect from Tarrentino. There was a lot of laughter in the theatre where it was suppose to be serious moments. The gratuitous nudity was something from a late night "skinemax" movie. The acting was just plain sad. The only worthy perfomance came from Ed Harris. Viggo Mortensen is well on his way to a career doing Lifetime/straight to video films. The kids in the film should have done their last film unless they join Viggo on the Lifetime network. The directing, well, again it was just plain sad. It takes a lot to make me spend my time doing this but I just had to give a true review. I'd love for someone to tell me what I missed because I just don't get it.
