When I first saw the preview for this movie, I expected it to be another usual "comedy flop." When I went to see it, I was pleasantly surprised.
Unfortunately, the entire movie is predictable. If there was a guideline for cheesy comedies, this movie followed it strictly.
Because of the release date, this makes for a good "after Thanksgiving movie" that my family always goes to. Everyone can sit through it (all the kids would like it, parents would be happy, but the teens might find it painfull), and it's a good movie for family bonding.
Quaid does a good job in acting. Indeed it is satisfying to see him get pelted with all sorts of materials (paint, food, etc.).
Not an Oscar movie. Don't go to this movie by picking it; go to it because going to the other ones wouldn't work out. |
