I have read a number or reviews stating that this is a crazy anti-male film. Well I am male and I missed that... Woody Harrelson's character is very positive, Sean Bean's character is positive. When you see the abuse in the mine, it's clear that several of the men do not agree with it or endorse it... I don't know I didn't feel like the film was an attack on my manhood ;-) or anyone else's for that matter... several of the female characters aren't real go-getters themselves... I thought it was pretty even and balanced. I'm no liberal, but then I'm not living in denial that unpleasant things happen to people either. It's a good story about alot of strong women and strong men who deal with some bad behavior and out-of-date atttitudes... Well written, the photography is very good... enjoyable... Charlize Theron has incredible range as an actress... very good... |
