First of all, I can't recommend this movie nor can I tell you NOT to watch it. It is a very hard one to review. Hence, my tile of this review, "It all depends". Read on to find out why.

THE GOOD: I am a Jason Statham fan and he doesn't break character as the transporter. I believe he has potential to be what should be the next James Bond (with a little polishing). He carries himself with dignity but his character isn't afraid to get his "hands dirty". Secondly, there are some fighting sequences that totally kick. He continues to do martial arts very well. The boy in this movie does a fine job for a typical child actor (but not oscar worthy).
Unfortunately, that is about all there is good about this movie.

THE BAD: Just about everything else. The villians are two dimentional and the story line is weak. The director needs to get his head examined as there are some action sequences that make John Woo's work look believeable. And that is saying a lot. The director and writers ruined what could have been a great sequal. No less than 4 critical action scenes left half of the movie audience laughing. Well, that's good if it is intended but, as you have already guessed, it wasn't intended. The story has many holes to the point of insulting and angering the serious movie watcher. If I had to describe this movie in one word it would be... ludicrious.

Final word: The reason I don't give this movie a whole "thumbs down" is because it was entertaining enough to pass the time -if you like Jason Statham, martial arts, and action flicks. That is, if one is able to be mellow and forgiving through all of its faults. And for some viewers this may be asking a lot. So I say- people who just have no standards for the quality of entertainment will be entertained at the C level and fans of the original Transporter movie should wait for the dvd. The rest of the viewing public should forget it. If you feel that you absolutely must see this movie then don't pay full price. It is worse than the typical hollywood sequal. Again, this is the fault of the writers and director and not the actors. So much potential and so much total screw up give the viewer a "shotgun" effect - all over the spectrum. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Hard to pin down to black and white. If two early teen boys were to write an action flick-- this is what I would imagine to be the final product.
