[SPOILERS WARNING]
Though visually stunning, with a distinct visual style and near seamless integration of live-action and CGI, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want someone to explain to me what the hell the movie was about...
Okay, I get that the ancient Egyptian god Horus came down to New York in his spaceship and had to impregnate the girl Jill.
But what was the deal with her? What exactly was she (before she became human)? What was 'The Intrusion' and who/what the heck was John?
Maybe the story would have made more sense if I had read the graphic novel the movie was based on but, if you're going to make a movie, make it so that ordinary viewers can follow the story, not just geeky fanboys...
Overall, I'd recommend watching the movie purely for the visuals but get good and liquored up first - you aren't going to be able to tell what the hell is happening anyways. |
