Here is an interesting thing; this should be a movie that should wear out its welcome. It's the same joke, with the same punchline that's given away in the title told over and over again. The deal is, it never gets old. The joke is delivered by multiple comedians and the movie hinges on "it's not in the punchline, it's in the execution".

"The Aristocrats" is spot on, not only in the laugh department but delves into the nature of comedy. People find some things funnier than others. Many would not find the content in this film funny. It's a depraved and disgusting display of vulgarity that sometimes involves animals, excrement, and almost always incest. If you can't laugh at the darkest aspects of humanity, "The Aristocrats" my not be for you. One comedian after another crosses that line of good tastes. My glasses must not be working because I have never seen that line.

I for one, can find humor in just about anything; so I spent most of my time laughing, often doubled over but always intrigrued. Director Paul Provenza has fashioned a movie that is about comedy and comedians approach to comedy. What they feel comedy is truly about does not always match from comedian to comedian. Provenza even adds a few renditions of the joke that could not fall flatter just to give us a better understanding of the difference between good and bad deliveries.

"The Aristocrats" turns out to be the funniest film this year, and I recommend seeing this with an audience; and probably not your mother, or any member of your immediate family. You know, don't go with anyone who might be offended (I did that once this year with the Todd Solondz movie and let's say, it wasn't comfortable). Otherwise it's wide open.

If you like foul, have a taste of "The Aristocrats".
