Romantic comedy fluffy duffy doofy poopy? Not a fan. Clever romantic comedy period pieces? Oh, how I love those. Thankfully, this movie fits the latter description.
Heath Ledger whips out his charming British accent (which, come to think of it, he has in about 96% of his movies) and pulls off the Casanova character quite well. Jude Law's fiancelike person is also very likeable as the female lead. Just kidding, I know her name is Sienna Miller and she's a surprisingly good actress.
"Casanova" is pure entertainment that's purely entertaining BUT surely its whole 18th century thing won't be for everybody. Sort of like how I don't like "Grease." |
