I had the pleasure of watching this movie at a free screening. The one positive thing I can say is that unlike most comedy trailers, this movie did have one or two laughs that were not in the commercial. It is a bitter sweet, mixed emotion comedy that has two people that love each other doing horrible things to each other. The depths of their depravity keeps your laughter in check. You watch two like-able people grow into sleezeballs.
Is profanity funny? Is it even necessary? If you had a nickel for every time Vince Vaughn said "GD" they would have to refund you the price of admission.
Two sight gags were very funny. Dinner table sing along scene was masterfully directed, as well the bedroom rehearsal scene.
As I left the theater I was glad about one thing.... I did not pay to see it! |
