The trailers lead one to believe that this is a happy, joyous, dancing penquin movie with the "different" penquin working out his place in the world. The dancing sequences are awesome, the humor is effective (sometimes subtly raunchy). The viewer is going along with the movie having a good time, and all of sudden it turns into a nasty, shove-it-down-your throat how terrible the humans are. Environmental messages are all well and good, but the way it was presented in the movie ended up detracting from could have been a thoroughly enjoyable movie. Even children leaving the movie wondered "if there were so few fish, how could there be so MANY penquins?" |
