Romance is a complex beast onto itself but throw in a meddling mother and 'poof'... you get drama and comedy. As Lisa Metzger, Meryl Streep gets to ham it up as an upper middle class Jewish therapist who discovers that her client is dating her son. Rafi played by the luminous Uma Thurman displays some pretty palpable chemistry with the sweet and hunky Dave played by Bryan Greenberg. Plagued by his mother's prejudice of Rafi's age and religious background, Dave fights to sustain the relationship right up to its inevitable end. A bittersweet tale of love and laughter that rings true. Great cast, lovely story. This one will be classic. |
