After reading a couple of so-so reviews, I was prepared to be disappointed. What a pleasant surprise then it was to enjoy this movie so thoroughly! As a professional urban woman somewhere in age between Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep, I'm probably the target audience, yet it would be a fun date movie too.
A light romantic comedy in the vein of Woody Allen (without relying on the schtick). Swell performances by all involved, nice sets and photography too. I have a feeling that I'd enjoy seeing this again on dvd, too.
Fun side note: I first saw a glimpse of this film while watching Bryan Greenburg's HBO series " Unscripted," which dovetails nicely into the scene at Crate and Barrel. Fun! |
