I spent a dismaying afternoon at the theatre in which I became convinced that society is off its tracks. We certainly understand that it's funny to say f***, because that word punctuated a significant percentage of the punch lines in this film. Amazingly, I looked around me to see people knee slapping over the 100th F*** YOU! How did we get to this place as a society? How could Roger Ebert find this dismal demonstration of the depths to which we have sunk worthy of an A-? This is one amazing and distrurbing commentary on who we are... that donkey-f***ing is a "cute bit". How much farther can we descend? I imagine we will watch people eating excrement next, and see it judged Oscar worthy by the multitiudes. |
