Great film about "the suck"

As a veteran of the platoon the movie is portraying, I found the movie to be very good. I know Tony Swofford and almost all of the characters portrayed in this film. It is accurate as to their characterization. It is also very realistic. The Marine Corps is 99% boredom. We train, we train, we train. Over and over again. A band of brothers we are. People may be shocked at the language, drinking, sex and fighting. But that is the USMC "grunts" (infantry). Hollywood has to put its spinn on things because they are in the buisness to entertain. Marines must find their own ways of entertainment during the countless hours of "downtime" And trust me "Moms of America" would be shocked. But those memories are ours forever and I for one would not change it for all the money in the world. Semper Fi Swoff, from Chaka |
