Ignore the critics who don't know what they are complaining about due to the fact they expect top notch acting from a videogame adaptation,character development from people who are just going to get killed immediately, and a plot that is unique.
Doom is the best videogame adapatation out of all the failed attempts because it sticks to the origin of the game closely. The makers of the game. iD software are involved. the rock is great as sarge and so is karl urban as reaper. don't expect a story with this type of movie to be original and meet high expectations because it's been done before in such films as aliens and predator. of course they had to change the story or it would be predictable. sets are right out of Doom 3 along with several monsters and signs fans will recognize. the 4-5 fps sequence is violent and a homage to the fans for this is afterall the father of fps games. don't expect oscar award wining acting, an original plot, and character development like Aliens, and you will enjoy it. |
