Terrified ten year olds, and matinee refunds......

Well, after reading "Moms' review" and several others, as well as relying on the PG rating system, we went to see this. A sunny afternoon, expecting some rollercoaster thrills, and a bit of spookiness, turned into terrifying imagery, near tears, and shock on the part of myself and my 16 year old daughter, who stayed for the entirety. My 10 year old and her friend were wise enough to remove themselves after the gruesome alleged death of the old man on top of a child. The theater gave me free matinee tickets and apologized, saying, "several children have left, quickly". We stayed to view the rest. We were especially appalled at the "Sevenesque" view of the large corpse buried under the house. The continued imagery of people being eaten alive by forces beyond a childs' control, (can anyone say "Jaws"? ) is terrifying enough? And did we really need to add the gratitious " I hate the government?" so Hollywood, left wing comment?
Puuullllleeaaaasssseee. I am angry at everyone who had anything to do with the PG rating, and will now have to spend much time convincing my child that things are really ok, in a world that is allready sometimes a difficult place to navigate.
Shame on you Hollywood. TG for "Pirates this summer"...
