I love Halloween. And this movie made me really excited for Halloween. You would think that movie marketing people would have released it in October. Instead, it will probably get lost in the shuffle of summer movies that come and go in a few weeks.
This is unfortunate because everything about this movie is fantastic. The story is hilarious and original. The animation is arguably better than "Cars." And, mostly, "Monster House" is a quality product that doesn't look appear to have been thrown together to make money for a few weeks in the summer.
The story does kind of lose its momentum towards the end but it's a really fun movie and really clever. And, hey, if they can release that one Ben Affleck Christmas movie in October, they can release a Halloween movie in July. |
