I saw "Flushed Away" today, (Saturday Matinee), and the theatre was about half full.
While the movie did not provide non-stop laughter, the children in the audience seemed to be genuinely entertained.
Some of the humor and movie references were a little over their head, (There are references to "Mary Poppins", "X-Men", "The Matrix", "James Bond", "Lady and the Tramp", and "The Godfather", and there are a few jokes at France's and The United States' expense.) The simple humor on the other hand, provided enough giggles for everyone.
On a side note, the slugs in the movie were some of the best supporting comedic relief I have seen in a movie. The soundtrack is hip, and filled with some great 80's songs as well as some current familiar hits.
I would put this movie somewhere above "HoodWinked", but below "Shrek" and "Toy Story".
It was fun, and it will entertain the young ones. |
