Excellent follow-up to the original

You definitely need to see this movie. All I want to write here is that I've been reading the reviews here and it seems like people are forgetting that this movie takes place literally hours after the original. The speed of the plot and action is going to be much faster than the original because they are now in the middle of a war. Selene will be more dominant in the plot than Michael because he is still new to the game, even reluctant to accept his new fate, as he was in the original. The Lycans of the first movie are not relevant here; this is an internal vampire war and the new, un-evolved Lycans only appear in the flashbacks and two other points in the main action where they seem realistic due to the isolation of the characters in those parts (not wanting to put in a spoiler as some people have here). Anyway, great action movie, excellent acting, and good job making the sequel not suck in comparison to the original. If you don't like gratuitous blood and violence, don't go see an R-rated vampire action movie. If you liked Underworld, see this as many times as you've seen the original. |
