Well worth seeing

Documentaries, regardless of the subject, are inevitably about the characters. Interesting subject, dull characters = dull movie, and vice versa. Here, the producers are blessed with both interesting characters and an interesting story(the PBA struggling to comeback to the prominence it enjoyed in the 50s-70s). The result is, no surprise, a very watchable movie. Did you know the PBA was owned by former Microsoft VPs? Did you know that the nation's best bowler is also the nations best horseshoe thrower? Did you know that the "bad boy" of bowling patterned his moves after pro wrestlers? All these facts are true. But the movie has plenty to say about the human character too. Well worth your time. |
