It's been a while now that people have been raving about Tony Ja in the movie 'Ong Bak' and having at last seen the film I fully understand why. It's one of the best fighting skills movie out there. The fighting style is very different then the earlier legendary Hollywood Actors like Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan. And the film does sets a whole new standard.
In short words, this movie is must-see for anyone that loves martial art or fighting movies. It has Ring fights, street fights and excellent chasing scenes. Tony Jaa truely deserves great respect and he deserves some great movies now with better story line. I didnt even care much about the story because i went to see Tony Jaa fighting style and i am impressed. Truely Great actor.
But what i do have to point out here, i dont like how people are already comapring this guy with likes of Jet Li, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan!!!

Comeon, this guy fights great and is very flexible in his stunts, yet you still cant say that he is better than Jackie Chan. Jackie chan is in his 50's and he can still slip through a Ticket Selling slots found in the theatres. Thats true art. Jackie chan has done such great stuff that hardly anyone can do it. So comparing him with Jackie chan would be just awfully wrong !

Now if you compare him with JET LI, i still dont think its a good idea. Jet Li has done some great movies in past. Its just recently that he has been signing some stupid CGI movies. Doesnt mean that he sucks.. He is a champion in his real life of one of the Martial-Arts tournaments held in his country and his acting is great as well for a ratherly new actor. So comparing him with Jet Li. Wrong !!

And now lets get down to Bruce Lee. I dont want to brag here and go on. He is a legend of China in real life, not as an actor but as a person. He invented a fighting style called "Jeet Kune Do" and his inner strength capability is still a mystery to people. He has fought real fights in his life with one of the biggest and toughest guys in Martial Arts history. And above all, comeon you must be nuts to even compare Tony Jaa with Bruce Lee !! Absurd ;)

So in the end.. I loved the movie.. Tony Jaa is an awesome and very talented Actor with a very unique fighting style. But please dont compare him with legends. This kid has still a long way to go before he could eb compared with anyone of the above actors..
Thank you !
