It's kinda long, but MAN- well worth it!!! I don't even know where to begin with this one. I just came back from seeing it and my brain is still overloaded. I know it's supposed to be a series of movies and I just want this one on DVD right now and to see the next one ASAP. Very well thought out characters, very nice effects (but they don't focus on the effects so they don't stand out- they blend in so well), the plot is based on the standard 'battle of good and evil, monsters live amoung us in the shadows, fate of the world hangs in the balance' type fare... but the way they put it all together and layered problem and adventure on top of each other... they didn't waste any of the time they put into this film. It's in Russian, but the subtitles even have a personality of their own and add another field of depth to the film. I need to let it sink in more, but I really liked it. |
