This is one of the most entertaining films I've seen in a long time. Why? Great acting, a fresh spin on film noir and above all it was consistently funny! I can't remember the last time I've laughed that much during a movie and I've seen both "The Wedding Crashers" and "The Forty Year Old Virgin". In my opinion, "KKBB" surpasses both films by a long shot, partly because this movie is not some contrived piece of Hollywood schtick. Shane Black has created an original story and Downey, Kilmer and Michelle Monaghan are a tight cast with fantastic chemistry. Robert Downey Jr. proves again and again he is a multi-faceted actor who makes you care about the characters he portrays. Val Kilmer is wonderful in a kick ass role that goes against stereotype. I highly recommend this film to anyone who hasn't had a good belly laugh in ages! Two thumbs up! |
