Ignorant "F" Movie Raters

Ok, I have never seen movie reviews where 95% of the public gave it "A"s, and the rest gave it "F"s. Not many "in betweeners". The ones rating it bad, are typically people who afraid of dealing with racial issues (the "politically correct- self righteous" type) especially with their own feelings and core beliefs. (Notice how most of those are in CAPITAL LETTERS?).

Or, maybe they were expecting a high budget- Action Movie with plenty more "crash" and burn scenes. Maybe they came to see Sandra Bullock behind the steering wheel of a speeding bus, and not to deal with the trauma of having a crime committed against her, or feeling like a prisoner in her own home, or feeling angry for not taking precautions to prevent herself from being a victim of the crime because of the fear of "looking" racist.

Or, maybe these reviewers were insulted that "their" LA looked the way it was portrayed - A hotbed of the racial issue ever since the riots. Should it been backdropped in Wichita, Kansas? It would not have been beleivable considering the dynamics, ethnicity, and backgrounds of each of the characters.

This movie works because when you hear some of the racial epitaphs, it shocks you, but it is strangely close enough to what you hear(and think) everyday. Just when you think you have a character in this movie figured out, they show their inner racial values.
The young cop who appeared to be above all of the discrimination and police corruption- turned out to be one of the worse offenders.

It also shows the ignorance that most people have in understanding others real ethic background- The Persian Store owner thought to be of a hated middle eastern descent, how the main character doesnt even know the descent of his partner/ lover, or how the DA's wife was clearly wrong on the locksmith's character.

In the end, each story and character illustrated that what IS important is the reliance on one's personal relationships- in how they gain strength to deal with, and live through life's biggest fears. This I beleive, ultimately what the movie IS about.

In closing, to the ignorant reviewer, politically correct simpletons- go spend your money on something more your intelliect! Comming Summer 2005-

And come back to rave how great it was- and dont forget to bring those CAPS!
