Im a big horror/thriller fan and after reading lots of reviews of House of Wax, I had lower expectations seeing this movie.
Having said that, House Of Wax is a pretty good horror movie fitting in the Slasher mold of the horror genre.
The first part of the movie is a little slow in getting along in trying to build character personality. The only problem is even after that, we still dont care much about them.
But this is a horror movie right?
lets get to the meat of the review. House of Wax has a couple of scares, some nice suspense-chase scenes, some gore, good killings, and a great climax. (when some of the victims get hurt in this movie you actually can almost feel the pain-it's a little sadistic)
One thing i liked is that no character is immune...everyone gets hurt to some degree in this movir....which is great cause some horror movies the survivor never even gets scratched by the killer.
I can give House of Wax a solid B grade.
Not much new here in terms of a horror movie, but you get what the movie advertises.
