This movie started on a very good pace. Quick, exciting and even a little breathtaking. Shortly after the first interrogation, the film begins to slow. I found myself trying to hard to figure out the plot. I began to forget abot enjoying what I was watching. I find that common among films such as these. I was watching the film with two other friends of mine, one was strictly enjoying himself (Hell how couldn't he working on a 12 pack) and the other was trying to pick out every little thing concerning the plot that it was driving him insane. This is a film that you have to pay close attention to detail but at the same time have fun with. Yea there are a couple things that might mislead you but hey, thats what these kind of films are expected to do.
Go into this movie expecting to see a good phycological thriller. Some of you may figure it out half way through, some of you may not, but the main thing is to have fun with it. There is some very interesting character weaving, and alot of relations to modern day dissfunctional parents, and the reprocutions. On top of that it brings some issues of the modern world into crystal clear view concerning poverty and race. The acting from Sam and Julianne were top notch and done beautifuly. If you are looking for a good thriller, and a film to keep you thinking Freedomland would be a good choice this weekend. It'll keep your mind racing and just possibly at the edge of your seat. |
