Despite the numerous bad reviews from both the critic's end and the "common folk" perspectives, I decided to give "Freedomland" a chance. Though I did not read the book, I'm assuming that the author did not intend to tell this story in such a desperate, downright embarassing attempt to "move" its audience. Though the acting was quite watchable, it would only be tolerable in another movie that actually warranted such action and reaction from its actors. It was as if Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore were transplated into a "Lifetime original" movie of the week (without the originality) and we, the audience, were being forced to witness the whole thing on a big screen, sans Fast Forward button.
