The Ice Harvest is a Mob movie. Quite gorey and quite explicit in its language. Movies try so hard to have twists, but anymore its usually hard to follow but then its so obvious you wonder why you were so confused in the beginning. The acting in this movie is pretty good, John Cusack and Billy Bob Thorton do pretty good. I think Randy Quaid though has had a few too many donuts on Saturday mornings, and Mondays...and Tuesdays...you get my drift. His head looked ready to explode and it had nothing do with someone holding a 22 to his head. Anyway, Cusack and Thorton steal some money from Cusack's boss, though they don't think anyone knows it was them, and to be honest, I don't think anyone did, even though someone was after them. The plot twist helps figure this out. So really, these mob guys are after them and it all becomes a mess. Some interesting things happen and for no reason at all. Some funny parts too, for such a serious movie. C+ |
