Art School Confidential is defnitely for those who are/know/or wanna be an Art student. The movie definitely plays to those who around people who fit this mold. Artists can usually be quite eccentric people, and many streotypes are conjured up about them. However, this movie does well to illustrate many ideas people have about art students, the sad thing is, they are pretty true!
This story follows a kid who is an art student, he does everything by the book and thinks he is going to be this great artist. He is pretty talented, but he is being shown up by a guy who seems to have never done art in his life. His paintings are childish and quite abstract and colorful, but this goes to show interpretation of art can be very different. Everyone thinks his art is great, but it seems its only a fad at the moment. But isn't this how art works?
There seems to be this side plot from the beginning about a murderer who is killing random people. But this side plot turns out to be a major plot in the movie, buy why? You'll have to see to find out.
This movie offers plenty of laughs and some good entertainment. Especially if you know anything about art! B+
