I am amazed how many parents refer to this film as too harsh for kids. Some even refer to the "sexual content" (of the penguins) as not appropriet for children. Com'on, are they really serious?
I enjoyed this film a lot. It's a heart warming story about how far parents would go to raise their young and how strong a family bound can be. Yes, there are some scenes that show sad moments with some penguins not being able to make it. Those are relatively few and far between. It does not make this movie too "harsh" or "sad" for kids, in my opinion. You can either concentrate only on the few sad scenes, or pay more attention to family bounds instead. If you can't bare letting your kids deal with death of some penguins in a movie, I don't know how you will ever be able to let your kids out in the world on their own.
It's a great family movie to take your kids to see. Do be scared off by the few over-protecting parents. |
