Funny, but only if you've worked in a restaurant

It's hard for me to give this movie a grade, since I think the viewer's level of enjoyment will vary drastically depending on whether or not they've worked a restaurant job before. If you have, you've had personal experience with the less-than-sanitary cooks, the waitresses who scream profanity in the back seconds before going out front to make nice with the customers, the ridiculously self-important managers, and the way second-shift employees flip out when customers come in just before closing - you'll really get the jokes and the movie will be hilarious for you. But, if you haven't worked in a place like this, most of this movie will just seem like a random string of events with dubious comedic value. Unless you find the idea of guys flashing their genitals at each other really, really amusing, I don't think there's enough in this movie that you're likely to find funny for it to be worth the price of admission. |
