Why isn't Robert Downey Jr. more popular?

I liked "A Scanner Darkly" mostly because of Robert Downey Jr. He was hilarious and hyper and plays a good drug addict (though I'm not sure that was much of a stretch for him). But I also liked this movie because it was well made.
I hope that that rotoscoping stuff catches on. It's really captivating and it really enhanced this movie's story, which was itself a pretty interesting analysis about drugs and the future and what have you. There were times when I wasn't quite sure what was happening but not to the point of frustration.
This movie gets kind of slow towards the end and its overall message was a little annoying but I still enjoyed watching it get to that point.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see "Monster House." |
