and I don't say that very often any more. The low key tone to the story is very effective, meanings come at you slowly and you have to think a bit, something audiences aren't used to doing, apparently.
Jonathan is the observer, the collector, and he is our window into the storyline. He is passive but reflective and is not so naive as he first lets on. The grandfather comes into the scene as a comical character without depth but that changes too. Alex the younger is excellent in his part also.
Even the dog grows in the wonderful tale.
I highly recommend this movie, it is a rarity among the inane. |
