I thought Napoleon Dynamite was weak. This was hysterical, mostly due to Amy Sedaris's excellent gift for timing, facial contortions and embracing a grotesque character.
You have to be comfortable with the fact that the film's protagonist is an ugly, racist, homophobic, sexually voracious, stupid, rude, former alcoholic, drug-abusing teenage runaway (I'm sure I'm missing a few, but you get the idea) and that you're supposed to laugh at both her triumphs and her failures. |
