Falklands 1982 (I was there!)

Having been a participant in the conflict after the invasion, my impression of the film was the acting of the general soldiers did not portray the real attitudes of the men who were fighting there. In fact real Royal Marines have far more intellect than is represented in this film. However in an attempt to re-create the events for historical purposes, I think the film succeeds.
All in all the film is a good representation, whilst it will not win Oscars, certainly deserves good merit.
The second part of the Falklands story remains to be told on the big screen where I hope the real trauma, action, and horrific real life drama is captured. The culmination of which sees the British overcome the Argentinian threat but only just. It was a very close thing with ammunition and supplies running very low during the last few days of conflict. |
