Now, I know alot of people just loved this movie to bits. But I must say my opinion on why I didn't love it. I'll admit, it was a decent movie, but I was deeply disappointed. I know I expected wayy too much from this movie, to the point it was unfair, but can you blame me? I mean, this is Tim Burton, the man who made instant classics like Edward Scissorhands and my all time favorite (and the reason why I wanted to see this movie) The Nightmare Before Christmas.
The story was a very good idea and the visuals.....the visuals were just seemly breathtaking. The details were so attended to and I just loved it. The music was also a stand-out point (except that song with the skeletons singing in the bar). Danny Elfman did another good job, though I'm noticing he's getting a bit louder with his music. I First noticed it in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The movie...seems to have all the good parts of a great movie...it's just missing something...something important, I don't know what that something is, I may never know. I will add however, that the ending was very touching and it was one of the couple things (Music and Visuals) that kept me in the theater. I don't plan on seeing it again, but you should check it out, some people love it, it might entertain you as well, so give it a try.
