This is not a movie about happy people living pretty lives, nor is it full of action. It is a collection of brief moments in the lives of people in pain.
Filming each vignette in a single uncut take gives a sense of intimacy, as if you have stepped into each of these womens lives in a moment of crisis.
The cinematography gives a documentary feel, reinforcing the idea that you are eavesdropping on real lives, although grainy film, occasional awkward angles, and overly long pauses between some segments were sometimes annoying.
If you like studying people, or good acting, its worth seeing, and don't forget the Kleenex. If that sounds boring, better skip it. |
