Well-deserved Film Festival buzz from Venice to Toronto to Sundance to Tribeca. Two lead performances from Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Brady Corbet that knocked my socks off. An important and highly compelling story to tell, but if you are homophobic or afraid of strong (but never explicit) depictions of gay sex, stay away. This is NOT a "gay" movie, even tho one of the lead characters is gay. The material attacks child abuse from more than one unique perpective, and will stay with you long after the closing credits.
Go to website (mysteriousskinthemovie dot com) for sched of openings, as it will be on a limited release schedule over the spring/summer. |
