It's ridiculous that Pierce Brosnan was fired from being 007. Clearly, he has at least AT LEAST 4 Bond movies left in him. Still, now that he's been freed from that franchise, he can devote his time to making more sweet movies like "The Matador."
Brosnan is the best thing this film has going for it (he easily pulls off being both charming and a chain-smoking drunk assassin manwhore), but surely not the only good thing.
The story is more clever, warm and funny than you'd expect and isn't as serious and dramatic as a lot of other movies in theaters now.
It's pure entertainment and, hey, Brosnan even shoots some people while a nice car gets destroyed like Bond would want. |
